Naked In… Baja Mexico
If you haven’t already seen it, make sure you check out my latest project.

Vegas Part 2 – Wonder Hussy & The Lake Beds
One of the places I really wanted to shoot in the Nevada desert was a dried up lake bed. Luckily for me Wonder Hussy knew of two very accessible lake beds within an hours drive of The Strip. We visited the first one after we shot amongst the red rocks on our first shoot and the second one was two days later. As you can see, we had vastly different weather at the two lakes which allowed for some very different captures in basically the same type of location. It was absolutely freezing on the second shoot and I must give Wonder Hussy serious kudos for braving the nipple freezing wind and drizzle to allow me to capture such great images. It was so cold in fact that on that very night it snowed for the first time of the season, not too far away in the Grand Canyon.

California Nudes
I’ve completed my California Nudes AV with images of Rebecca & V Nixie. It was so much fun exploring Joshua Tree Nat Park and the Anza-Borrego Desert State Park with these two talented models and I was more than happy with the results. As you can see, it was a very successful 2 days shooting in the California desert

Last day in L.A. w/ Rebecca & Instagram
Well I’ve just had my last night’s sleep on US soil and luckily I had the lovely Rebecca to keep me company. It’s a miserable day here, 11 degrees and raining! WTF LA???? I thought you were supposed to be warm and full of sunshine??
This afternoon I’m going on a Hollywood tour hosted by a local tour guide by the name of Kelly Strnad who works for Toursbylocals.com. Hopefully the weather might become a little nicer by this afternoon in time for my tour.
Rebecca is off to San Francisco today for another week of modelling but before she took flight, I managed to fit in a quick Instagram shoot with her in my Holiday Inn LAX room this morning.

Samantha Grace
Back to Baja for this post as I continue to edit images from Fest X @ Todos Santos.
As Samantha Grace is a self confessed California beach babe and considering she hadn’t had the chance to shoot outside of the hotels, I thought she would like the opportunity to scrabble over some rocks and get wet at the beach. I think it’s pretty obvious from the photos that she appreciated it

Vegas Part 1 – Wonder Hussy & Red Rocks
You may be thinking, what the hell is a Wonder Hussy?? I wouldn’t blame you if you were either. Wonder Hussy happens to be the name of a local Vegas model who I stumbled across some months ago on Model Mayhem. Her blog offered some helpful tidbits of local info about shooting in and around Vegas and as soon as I saw she had a pick up truck and would be happy to drive helpless photographers around to some cool desert locations to shoot, I knew she was the girl for me – to shoot with that is
Here’s Part 1 of my shoot(s) with Wonder Hussy where we ventured out into the Vegas desert and found some really red rocks.I don’t normally edit my art nudes with such vibrant colour but when you have a sky and rocks like that, they just scream saturation! I’ll probably still edit some black & whites later anyway though

St Merrique @ Casa Dracula
My second shoot at Casa Dracula was with Los Angeles model St Merrique. This space really offers a great variety of areas to shoot in so it’s easy to achieve some very different looks in the one location. St Merrique was absolutely amazing to work with and the way the sunlight bounces off her lovely skin is just breathtaking.
Those of you that know me are well aware that I am a quiet soul and I normally don’t talk a lot during shoots but I think I hardly said anything at all during this shoot but only because I really didn’t have to. St Merrique was so good at posing and interpreting what I wanted all I really had to do was point her in the general direction and let her go for it. It was such an effortless shoot and the results were outstanding. Even if I do say so myself
If you ever get a chance to work with St Merrique, I highly recommend you jump at the opportunity.

Brooke Lynne
Brooke’s reputation as an art nude model had preceded her and I was very much looking forward to working with her. I had seen her portfolio and even heard first hand about her ability to work with the environment, especially with positioning her body in tight, tiny spaces. So with that in mind I thought the rocks at the beach would be a good place to test her out
Of course she passed with flying colours and I was left amazed at how she carefully manoeuvred her body in behind rocks and crevices and created beautiful poses in such awkward positions. To say I was impressed would be an understatement.

Bye Bye Baja, Hello Vegas!
Well the 10th annual Zoe Fest (Fest X) has sadly come to an end. This was my third Zoe Fest, my first outside of Australia and it certainly won’t be my last. Once again I have had an absolute blast working, socialising (i.e. Drinking!) and just plain old chilling out with an amazing bunch of talented photographers and beautiful models, without whom, I would not have been able to create such amazing imagery during my stay in Todos Santos.
New friendships were forged and old ones reaffirmed to become even stronger. This is easily my favourite time of the year and I’m already looking forward to the next one – where ever that may be!
A big thanks to all of those that participated but in particular to Zoe for her tireless efforts, Mick Marlborough for securing all that amazing sponsorship from Lens Baby, Rogue Photographic Design, Expo Disc and Peak Design. Thanks also to Rex from A&I Books for all his help. My travel buddy Mal Grant, it was awesome fun if not a little scary driving on the opposite side of the road with you! Last by no means least, thanks to all of the models. I love each and every one of you and have nothing but admiration for your efforts and modelling skills.
Luckily for me my adventure hasn’t ended just yet and I will now be spending the next few days in VEGAS BABY!! But no, I won’t be sitting in the casinos gambling what little money I have left away. I will be heading out into the Nevada Desert for a couple of shoots with a crazy local model called Wonder Hussy!
So keep an eye out for what’s coming next from the Vegas Desert shoots and I will also continue to add images from Baja as I get around to editing more of the shoots.

Ella, an English Rose
Ella Rose is our only UK representative this year as unfortunately we had some last minute drop-outs. Like other English art nude models I’ve worked with before, she is full of beauty and grace and she certainly didn’t disappoint on our very first shoot together.
We shot in three locations, The Todos Santos Inn, an old cannery which has some great old decaying buildings and the Playa de las Palmas.
I’m not sure I will have time to shoot with her again this trip but I certainly hope our next shoot is not too far away.
